          Mr. Dolin


Jesse Dolin - Principal

Jesse Dolin is the Principal of the Mathis Elementary. Mr.Dolin was born at Mons, Belgium and has traveled around the world several times having a father who was in the United States Army and a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War. His diverse up-bringing, can-do attitude, and love for children makes Mr. Dolin a great fit for the community of Mathis.

Mr. Dolin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in General Education from the University of Indiana at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), as well as, achieving his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University at Corpus Christi (TAMUCC).

Qualifications and Work Experience

Mr. Dolin has taught a total of 11 years as a teacher, 2 years in both rural and inner city public schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, and 9 years at Tuloso-Midway ISD in Corpus Christi, TX. In 2012 Mr. Dolin came to Mathis ISD as the Assistant Principal of Mathis Elementary School. The following year Mr. Dolin's became Principal of Mathis Pre-kinder/Kindergarten Academy and from 2014 and on our Principal of Mathis Elementary. Through his educational positions Mr. Dolin has worked with children from the grades Pre-kinder through 8th grade for a total of 15 years since 2002, as well as prior to his professional career.

Hobbies and Interests

Mr. Dolin enjoys spending time exercising, time with friends, and his family. Growing up with a compassionate-devoted mother from rural South Korea and a respected and loving father who is a good 'ol boy from West Virginia has given Mr. Dolin a perspective of how to gain character and respect from all people in order to foster genuine relationships that will grow and prosper.

Mr. Dolin's focus is to use his education and experiences to build a school community that will guide all children to reach their potential while acquiring lifelong learning skills.


Mrs. Eckhoff

Maggie Eckhoff - Assistant Principal

Maggie Eckhoff is the MES Assistant Principal. She was born and raised in Newcastle Upon Tyne which is located across the pond in England. Mrs. Eckhoff was married in 1997 to Walter Eckhoff in which they adopted two children daughter Sarah who is in 9th grade and their son Alex who will be in 8th grade. As part of their family they have two dogs a golden retriever named Teddy Bear and a yellow lab named Buddy.

Qualifications and Work Experience

In 1983 Mrs. Eckhoff obtained her Bachelors Degree in Geography and Post Graduate Degree in teaching from University ofNorthumbria (Formerly Newcastle Polytechnic) and in 1996 she obtained her Masters Degree in Education Leadership from Oxford Brookes University. Before living in the United States, Maggie taught internationally in mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. For the last 15 years she has worked for a charter school organization in San Antonio, where she began as a teacher, moved to a Principal position and then spent 7 years in the district office as Director of Business Operations.

Hobbies and Interests

Maggie loves to travel and has visited many places in the world. Along with working in Spain, the Canary Islands and Buenos Aires Argentina, she has traveled extensively within Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The most memorable countries she has visited on her travels were Egypt, Thailand, Botswana, and Brazil. She loves spending time with her family and camping in their RV, in which they also love to fish.
