Mathis ISD Announces Acting MHS Principal

Dr. Maria Rodriguez-Casas, Mathis ISD Superintendent of Schools, announced the appointment of Delma Flores as acting principal at Mathis High School on Tuesday, January 26. Daniel Ceballos, former Mathis High School principal, was named the lone finalist as superintendent at Benavides ISD.

Dr. Casas said “Our best wishes go with Mr. Ceballos to his new post. He has served Mathis ISD as principal at the Intermediate School, at McCraw Junior High School, and most recently, at Mathis High School. He is also Area Administrator for College-Readiness, managing and implementing college-readiness program from kindergarten through high school. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Flores who has worked closely with Mathis High School and with the faculty on curriculum improvements.”

Mrs. Flores joined Mathis ISD in August, 2009 as Area Administrator for Teaching and Learning. In that position she has worked with faculty and administrators to implement new teaching practices and curriculum on all campuses.
