Mathis ISD Seeking Referrals for Students for 2025-2026 Gifted and Talented Program
Mathis ISD has announced the referral process to identify students for the Gifted and Talented Program for the 2025-2026 school year. Referrals from parents, teachers, and students will be accepted from January 15-31, 2026.
The referral forms for new students are available in the front office at each campus. Students already in the program do not need to be re-referred.

- exhibits high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area.
- possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
- excels in a specific academic field."
The Texas Education Agency website, https://tea.texas.gov/academics/special-student-populations/gifted-and-talented-education provides information and resources for the Gifted and Talented Program.
Referral forms and additional information is available from Nicole Tucker, Mathis ISD- GT Coordinator, 361-547-2472.
